Odour Management Plan

Odour Management Plans (OMP) determine the impact that nuisance odours from industry may have on nearby sensitive receptors sites such as surrounding residential and commercial areas. The OMP allows companies to implement an action plan as employees detect an odour or when complaints are received from local businesses or residents.

The purpose of an Odour Management Plan is to:

  • Identify and evaluate raw materials / products used on-site which have the potential to emit / evolve odorous vapours to the air.
  • Evaluate the dispersion and dilution pathways between the emission points of potentially odorous vapours and off-site receptors.
  • Assess the significance and likelihood of off-site impacts because of odours generated by operations and
  • Provide recommendations to mitigate and/or manage odour emissions.
